Welcome to the website. Please note that I've not been able to make any updates for some time and the site is likely to remain as it is for the forseeable future. Having said that, I hope you enjoy what's here and thank you for visiting.
My name's Keith Fryer, I'm retired now but I worked as a photographer and writer for about thirty years. For the last twelve of those years I supplied illustrated features to various classic motorcycle magazines and have built up an archive that I'd like to share with you.
They take a detailed look at British motorcycles made from the 1940's to the 1980's, with some additions from other makes and years.
Previously published articles have featured in either 'Classic Bike Guide' 'The Classic Motorcycle' or 'Classic Scooterist Scene' magazines, the articles describe how owners rebuilt or modified their motorcycle. There's also useful information on why they made the changes and what worked for them, including the answers to specific problems.
We'll learn a bit about the owner, what they've ridden and why they chose the featured bike. At the end of each article there'll be a detailed specification, plus links to parts and services suppliers who can help with essential spares or in doing something you can't manage yourself.
I hope you enjoy reading about the bikes again; the difference this time is you're seeing the original text plus more pictures than were first published.
The Legal Stuff: I own the copyright in all the words and images on my websites and in the PDF articles. (© All Rights Reserved Keith Fryer / Phoenix Photo). The articles must not be copied, altered, published or distributed in any way without my prior agreement on terms and conditions, thank you.
I've been riding for over fifty years, owning a variety of British, German and Japanese motorcycles, currently riding a '77 BMW R75/7.
